P6000 series

The sensitive nature of several of the company's wideband tuners, digitizers, and receivers prevents providing their specifications on this site. Please contact us to arrange for the proper venue of discussion.

Continued product development includes VHF/UHF and microwave tuners, digitizers and receivers. Please inquire about the current status and availability of product data.

Model P6020/P6020i Wideband Digitized Tuners

The P6020 is Protium’s next-generation, miniature brick, RF-to-Digital Tuner–Digitizer covering the frequency range of 20 to 6000 MHz. The design goal of realizing a small, light weight, low power consumption unit with high performance is accomplished using the latest RF components and SDR techniques.

Comprehensive VTF and sub-octave pre-selection, coupled with a strong triple balanced first mixer, provides superior performance in high density, high level signal environments. A low phase noise LO synthesizer provides ultra fast tuning. The P6020 has a continuous digital I&Q output stream over a 1 GHz Ethernet port for bandwidths up to 20 MHz and a snapshot mode with more than one second of storage at 40 MHz bandwidth.

The analog IF of 140 MHz is digitized using a high speed, low jitter 16-bit A/D followed by a FPGA with DSP based BW filters and NCO functions. The unit has a total gain control range of 120 dB: 60 dB of RF gain control via attenuator settings and 60 dB of digital gain. Attack/Decay selections are provided in the AGC mode. The user can program the RF section, AGC parameters, IF bandwidth filters, output mode and other settings via the 100/1000 Ethernet interface. A USB port is provided for maintenance, firmware upgrades, and network configuration.

Power consumption is 10 watts nominal and 15 watts maximum during continuous I&Q streaming. The unit is operated from a 9-34 VDC power source. Operating temperature is –20 to +60 degrees C. The machined aluminum housing measures 3.0” x 6.5” x 0.75”. All connectors are on one end of the unit.

The P6020 Wideband Tuner–Digitizer is a robust unit well suited for tactical and strategic signal collection and monitoring applications. It is also available in an international configuration (P6020i).

Model P6010/P6010i Wideband Tuners

The P6010 is an advanced, miniature brick, RF-to-IF tuner covering the frequency range of 20 MHz to 6,000 MHz (6 GHz) with approximately 0.1 Hz tuning resolution. High performance is accomplished with the latest RF technologies and SDR techniques. Comprehensive VTF and sub-octave pre-selection, coupled with a robust triple balanced first mixer, provide superior performance in high density, high level signal environments.

A low phase noise LO synthesizer provides ultra fast tuning. This flexible tuner has a selectable reconstituted IF center frequency of 70 MHz or 140 MHz with a selectable bandwidth of 20 MHz or 40 MHz.

The high speed 16-bit A/D digitizes a 140 MHz IF, followed by an FPGA, to realize DSP-based IF filters and NCO functions. The output from the DSP section is followed by a D/A, providing the reconstituted analog IF output. The P6010 features 60 dB of MGC and a variable attack/decay AGC mode. Remote control is via a USB 2.0 interface. The unit operates with a wide range of input voltage: 9-32 VDC, with a power consumption of under 10 watts. Operating temperature is –20 to +60°C. The milled Aluminum housing measures 3.0” x 6.0” x 0.75” and has optional customer-specified covers to customize mounting and cooling. All connectors are on one end.

The P6010i is configured for export.

In all respects, this wideband tuner is a robust, compact unit well suited for many tactical and strategic signal collection and monitoring applications.
